TRANSCRIPT OF TODAY'S EPISODE

Announcer:  You're listening to The Doctor Is In Podcast, brought to you by MartinClinic.com. During the episode, the doctors share a lot of information. As awesome as the info may be, it is not intended to diagnose, cure, treat, or prevent any disease. It's strictly for informational purposes.

Dr. Martin:  Well, good morning, everyone. And once again, welcome to another live this morning in Canada, Thanksgiving. So, happy Thanksgiving out to our Canadian folks. Well, we don't take a day off.

Should we talk turkey? Okay, now, was it Cecilia? I can't remember exactly who put a post about red meat again, okay, on the weekend. And my audience, I love it because they kind of know my answer is going to be because they put up a study or what this cardiologist said, or I can remember exactly what they because all I saw was red meat.

And that gave me a migraine. Right. Over the weekend to our private Facebook group, I said, thanks for the migraine. Because it was such a stupid study on red meat.

Okay. Now, guys, I've been doing this for over 50 years. And I heard about the dangers of red meat. Even while I was in school in the seven.

Okay. Because even the gurus back then were starting to drink the Kool-Aid on red meat. Okay. Because what was happening back then was the link of cholesterol to heart disease.

That was sort of the number one thing that came out against red meat because of the link. And guys, I've given you the history of that. One guy, one guy. And in the 60s, he was so famous that he had a space on I actually have it in my photographs.

His face was on Time magazine. He was so popular. And everybody bowed down to Dr. Ansel Keys.

Not me. Not me. But they bowed down. The world, the world went stupid.

The world started the cholesterol craze. Cholesterol was at the root of heart disease. That was the premise. And the whole world went for it.

And when I say the whole world, I mean the whole medical world. And then because of that, it started in 1955 when President Eisenhower, who was smoking four packs of cigarettes a day, like my dad, had a heart attack while he was playing golf. And somehow Ansel Keys got on the news and said, well, we know why, because he's got high cholesterol.

Didn't even talk about smoking. Guys, that's the fact. And then he did a famous what they call seven country study to prove his theory. And like I said, the whole world went stupid.

And ever since then, they've been vilifying red meat. They've been vilifying steak. They've been vilifying bacon. It's a bad guy.

And guys, only in the animal kingdom, not in the plant kingdom, but in the animal kingdom, do you have cholesterol. So it got vilified. And I was like, and I mean this, I wasn't the only guy, but I was one of the few, like John the Baptist in the wilderness, crying out, don't be so stupid. Red steak is the best food in the world.

And yes, it has cholesterol, but your body needs it. Okay. So, okay. And I just made a little bit of a list here.

Okay. So we all know heart disease. It started with that. Heart disease, cholesterol, therefore red meat.

Okay. And listen, even in my studies, okay, even in my undergraduate studies, I learned that red meat was bad for you. I didn't buy it. And again, you can go back to my education.

In 1968, my dad taught me something different. Son, never forget the words. Son, it's called it's called sugar diabetes. So my whole perspective, in the little I knew, I didn't know much, but I went to school with a different thinking.

The problem wasn't meat. It was sugar. That's the problem. You want to know what destroys blood vessels?

Sugar, not meat, not cholesterol. And it's funny because even in high school biology, you learn that cholesterol, every cell in your body's got cholesterol. You can't live without it, but now they found a cholesterol, and you go back to the 70s, and 80s, they found a cholesterol that they called the Boogeyman, and that was LDL cholesterol.

And the only reason they picked out LDL is because they found a drug to lower it. You got a drug that lowers it? Let's push it on everyone. And the rest, guys, is sort of history because that became the mantra.

That became religion. Every cardiologist in the universe got trained. Every family doctor got trained. Every dietician got trained in cholesterol.

Bad. And then, I'm just going to bring you forward a little bit. In the 80s, and I watched it happen, okay? Because remember now, you have to think meat, bad.

Chicken, not bad. Why is chicken not bad? Well, it ain't red meat, and it really doesn't have a lot of cholesterol. So you can have some chicken.

And then, I got the expression chicken and saline because what happened, dieticians, cardiologists, doctors of all kinds, they bought it. That salad is better for you than red meat. Any meat, but especially red meat. And the vilification of red meat was complete.

Like, now it was science. And listen, guys, you have to understand the way dieticians and cardiologists and whatever, they get it from day one in their teaching. It's in their craw. They can't get rid of it.

And that's why you'll get study. Look, guys, am I against studies? Nope. I read them all.

Well, I don't read all the details of them unless I'm fascinated by it. But I've got all the studies coming to me. I look at it. Okay?

And if you asked 99% again of traditional medicine or whatever, yeah, red meat, you have to either totally eliminate it or major decrease. They don't know what they are talking about. Okay? So remember now, it started with heart disease, cholesterol and heart disease.

That premise is still around today. And somebody was on our site the other day and chirping in, hey, you want to chirp in, chirp in. Okay? But don't expect not to be challenged.

Okay? Because this person said, well, yeah, okay, now we're not so interested in LDL a little bit, but we're interested in particle size of cholesterol, A-Pol, A-Pol-A, A-Pol-B. Okay? A-P-O, it's particle size.

Okay? And what do I call that, guys? In my teaching to you, weeds. They're getting into the weeds.

Why? Because the world insists on statin drugs, the number one seller of all time. And here's the results of statin drugs. I mean, we've had a lot of years now.

Guys, we've had a lot of years. Okay? We're almost into 50 years of statin drugs, as long as I was in practice. 50 years.

And what's the result? Heart disease is worse than ever. Not better. It's worse.

It's worse. You can take, and they've shown us, statin drugs will not increase your lifespan five minutes. And, oh, I got a whole page here where they put it on the side effects of it. I have it right here.

Maybe we'll talk about that in a minute. Okay, so here's the world. Red meat. Okay?

Let me give you the list. It may not even be complete. Okay? Kidney stones.

Red meat. That's not true, but I'm just going to give you the list. Okay? The worst thing for your kidneys, not red meat, sugar.

And anything that turns to sugar rapidly. Remember, kidneys, like your eyeballs, dependent on circulation. I always use this expression, guys. Okay?

I use it all the time. I used to use it in my office. How do you know sugar is toxic? Ask a diabetic.

A diabetic facts. Facts. Ten times more likely to have a heart attack. Ten times.

Take the general population out there, and a diabetic is ten times more likely to have a heart attack. Hello? Why? Cholesterol?

Why is a diabetic ten times more likely to have a heart attack than Joe Blow out there that doesn't have diabetes? What is it? Sugar. Left unattended.

Okay? You guys know me. I teach with illustrations. Sugar in your blood is in a no-parking zone.

You have an organ in your body dedicated to taking sugar out of your bloodstream. That's called your pancreas, and it secretes insulin. And insulin's your friend. Insulin's your friend, guys.

Okay? Insulin's your friend. Until it's not. But anyway, okay?

So you get the premise, guys. They don't even teach this in medical school. Imagine they don't teach this in medical schools. They teach no nutrition, or a few minutes of it, and here's what they teach.

Moderation. I had a dietician. I mean an educated master's degree. Dr.

Martin. You need sugar. Yeah. But you don't have to eat sugar to get sugar.

Okay? And I'm looking at her, and I said, yeah, your body needs some glucose. But if you're on a ketotic diet, I asked the question. If you're on a ketotic diet and you're not having any sugar, are you going to die?

Looked at me like I had two heads. What? Well, a ketotic diet, you're not having any sugar. So if your body needs sugar, how does it get it?

It'll take protein. It'll take steak. You need a little bit of sugar? Your body will take steak and make a little bit of sugar.

Even on a ketotic diet. It'll take steak. And that's a fact. In biochemistry, you learn that you think on day one.

But you see how the world just got duked. So you have kidney stones. You better cut back on red meat because that's what causes kidney stones. Says, not me.

You're not going to die. You're going to die. That's not me. That's not true.

You've got two types of kidney stones. You have oxalates. That doesn't come from me. That comes from vegetables.

And oats and almonds. You guys that drink almond milk. Okay. I go to a coffee shop and I, can I have a coffee?

And I put a little bit of almond milk in there. I get a migraine. If somebody said to me the other day, you get a lot of migraines. When I hear stupidity, I get a migraine.

Kidney stones. 75% are oxalate. It's people that live on saline. Spinach.

Oxalates. And the other 25% are uric acid. Oh yeah, but Dr. Martin, now I know I got you because uric acid comes from red meat.

Hello. No, it doesn't. Uric acid is a byproduct of fructose. Why do we see, and guys, we've taught this on this program, a 300% increase in gout.

Like gout's been around, it's biblical. Okay. It'd been around for a long time, gout. The King's disease.

If you were in medical school 200 years ago, you would have learned about gout. But it's a byproduct of fructose. Uric acid stones. Uric acid, all of us make uric acid.

It's a waste product. But if you don't filter it out, it can give you gout or it can give you kidney stones. It can raise your inflammatory markers in your body. That's why I include uric acid.

I like that number and just my experience, and I think I'm the only guy, as far as I know, I haven't read that really anywhere else. I put it part of metabolic syndrome. That's why I want you to get tested for uric acid. To me, it's a very important marker.

And, you know, doctors, why do you want to get uric? You don't have gout. I don't care if you've got gout. I want to know what your uric acid levels are.

It tells me generally how much fructose you're eating. And the worst of the worst of the worst is high fructose corn syrup. Very damaging. Okay.

Kidney stones. Heart disease, we talked about that. Okay. Gout, we talked about that.

Like gout, oh, gout, gout, cut back on red meat. There was somebody last week, I was talking to somebody and they said, well, my doctor said I got gout now cut back on red meat. Yep. It's just common.

Didn't say cut out sugar. They said cut out red meat. Funny that even in a medical book, they'll tell you to cut back on alcohol. It goes to the liver just like fructose does.

And that's why they want you to cut back on alcohol if you've got gout. But they blame it on red meat. Cancer. Can I say something?

It's my program, I'm going to say it. Let me say this. Cancer hates steak. I wrote that in my book, Sun, Steak and Steal.

Cancer hates steak. It hates it. It hates it. Cancer hates steak.

The food you should be eating to prevent cancer and to treat cancer is steak. Nothing that, yes, liver, guys, everybody goes, Dr. Martin, you always bring up liver. I don't like liver.

How many times do I got to tell you that? It is good for you. Okay. I just don't like it.

I'm not going to talk to you about stuff I don't like. Red meat, steak, cancer cells, they can't live on it. Oh, Dr. Martin, what about glutamine?

I heard that a million times. What about glutamine? Yes, sugar, but glutamine. Isn't that, you find glutamine in steak?

Yeah, but it don't feed cancer. Glutamine, when they say glutamine, it's part of fermentation. It had nothing to do with eating steak. Dr.

Warburg, 1928, we knew this. Don't eat sugar. Sugar, cancer cells are ravenous. Ravenous.

Okay. They have a rage. They're like teenagers and sugar. Okay.

Cancer cells. I always rest my case with, what's a PET scan? What is a PET scan? Oh, it's imaging, not for your pets.

It's imaging, especially for cancer. And the imaging don't work unless they give you glucose, either intravenously, or they give you a cup of sugar to drink. Drink this, and then we put you in the machine. And if you have cancer anywhere from your nose to your toes, it's going to light up like a Christmas tree because sugar is going to go right to cancer cells.

Hello? I know, guys, you know, I look stupid. Sugar goes to cancer cells in a PET scan. They use intravenous glucose, or you drink a cup of sugar and it goes to your cancer cells go crazy.

Hello? Crazy? Hello? Gets ber-berry.

They don't want to hear it. You think Coca-Cola, Pepsi-Cola, the food companies, there's only eight of them left. They own everything. Do you think they want to hear that when you drink a soda, you're feeding cancer?

You think they want that? You think the makers of Tropicana, the number one selling drink in the USA, orange juice, they think they want you to hear that? I don't think so. So then you have the narrative.

I know I'm getting philosophical here today, but when I read the story on cholesterol and then I read, you know, cholesterol in red meat, gout in red meat, cancer in red meat. Oh, listen to this. This is always out there. Digestive issues.

Well, you know, you're eating meat. That'll give you digestive issues. Digestive issues. And I've taught you guys the complete opposite.

The easiest thing to digest for your stomach, for your small intestine is red meat. It's so nutritionally packed. There's so little waste. And guys, you know, I can do it again.

I don't have time this morning. I could go over how you're built, how your body is built versus a cow's body. You don't have the length of the intestine that they do. You don't have four stomachs.

That's what it takes to break down salad. Okay. Cows eat salad, so you don't have to. I heard a comedian the other day, dying laughing.

He said, salad is just a promissory note that the real food is coming next. I didn't die when I heard that. Digestive issues. You know how many thousands of people that I saw with IBS?

Tens of thousands. Irritable bowel. Acid reflux. Oh, that's meat.

No, it's not. You're a carbaholic. Your stomach wasn't made to eat and live on carbs. It wasn't.

It was designed to have more acidity in it than a lion has. Now, I've never followed a lion around, but apparently they live on meat. They don't live on vegetables. Chora Falls.

Somebody inform me if I'm wrong about that. Think of it. You have more acidity, or you should. Have more acidity in your stomach than a lion.

Guys, it's mind boggling how the world got duped. The deception is incredible. And you just try and change that narrative. Good luck with that.

Anywho. Okay, guys. I got excited. Okay.

We got a great week coming. Okay. We got a great week coming. Friday, as always, Q&A, guys.

Get your questions in. Okay. Don't be shy. Don't feel intimidated.

We're non-intimidating people here. We love you guys. Ask your question. Okay.

We always have lots of questions. Don't be shy. If I got to have three Q&As, well, look at today. My whole topic was based on what does Dr.

Martin think of this study? Red meat and, was it red meat and cancer, or was it red meat and I don't know. Soon as I saw red meat bad, well, you know the answer. Okay.

You know the answer. You guys know where I come from. Am I a lone ranger? Not quite alone, but I got some company now.

40 years ago, I had no company. People thought I was crazier than a hoot owl. Well, they still do. Okay. A lot of people still do.

Who cares? I'm just going to tell you what I see, man. That's what I see. Okay. Okay. We love you guys. But talk to yourself.
