TRANSCRIPT OF TODAY'S EPISODE

Announcer:  You're listening to The Doctor Is In Podcast, brought to you by MartinClinic.com. During the episode, the doctors share a lot of information. As awesome as the info may be, it is not intended to diagnose, cure, treat, or prevent any disease. It's strictly for informational purposes.

Dr. Martin:  Well good morning everyone. Once again, welcome to another live this morning. Always great to have you guys come on with us. Much, much appreciated. We appreciate you coming on. You guys are the best, very, very best as you get your notifications and coming on with us this morning live. It is great. So let me touch on something that got asked, okay, because in the private Facebook group about structured water, okay, so people, at least someone I can't even remember, but somebody was asking about structured water. Now you guys know me in Vitamin W water. The best water in the world is spring water. If you want to get a machine to structure your water and you, but structured water really is spring water and spring water. I mean, if you were right beside a mountain stream or whatever, there's no better water in the world than that.

But at the end of the day, I always want people to get the big picture first because people used to come into my office and trying to sell me on the idea of promoting on my radio show before I did podcasting, these machines or whatever to structure water. Well, I wasn't against it, but I used to tell my patients, look, don't get into the weeds. The vast majority of people are dehydrated. They don't drink enough water. They just don't. And so for me, it was amazing to me because I used to actually test that I tested the viscosity of their blood and they were very dehydrated, the vast majority of people. You're on any medication, you're going to be dehydrated. Your body needs minimum two liters of water a day or 64 ounces. How do I know that? Well, how about a hundred thousand patients over the years? It's the sweet spot. Some people need more. I haven't met anybody that needed less, but maybe there is. But I'm telling you, water is the best.

What's the best water? Spring water. Okay, you want to filter your water out of a tap, I got no problem with that. Filter your water. Just drink water. There's good, better and best. And so get your water in. If you want to structure it, get a machine to structure water. If you want to do that, do it. Okay? But like I said, I always look at the big picture first, it's just like people asking me about Doc, I want to eat eggs. Does it have to be organic? Well, that would be better if you had chickens running around outside and you could get eggs every day. Beautiful, wonderful. I give you a high five, but at the end of the day, I used to tell my patients, I want you eating eggs. I didn't tell 'em what kind of eggs. I just said eggs. The analogy I use is rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. Fix the road you're on, turn the ship around.

And then if you want to do the furniture, then do the furniture. Eat all organic. Buy yourself a farm. Hey, I'll give you a high five if you can do it. I mean, good for you. And I don't even mean to be facetious, I just mean I'm a big picture guy. You have to understand that we get on The Doctor Is In podcast, we're at what, three or 4 million downloads now? I got to talk in generalities. I want people to start forming habits. You know how many tens of thousands of patients that didn't drink water that started drinking water because they didn't even know there were dehydrated. You know how many people told me? And men, almost always men instead of women, doc, I don't like water. I said, I didn't say you had to like it. You'll thank me later. Start drinking it. It's going to have a major effect on your blood pressure. It's going to have a major effect on your kidneys. You want to do a detox? Well drink water.

So I would hit the high points and get people on right habits and then they couldn't get over it. Oh, I just started drinking water and boy, do I ever feel better. Yeah, so I'm consistent guys and people, I still see it sometimes online. Oh, water is so overrated. You're like planet Earth. 70% of your body is water. Don't you think you need it? Anyway like I said, any med at all, it'll dehydrate you. And I like a little bit of salty water. I like that. Right? So that's important. Okay, because somebody asked about structured water. Look guys, you can go on the internet and yeah, I mean they'll tell you, but I don't think you got to spend a lot of money to drink water. I don't think so. But I mean, if you're drinking out of a tap, you got to filter your water. In my opinion. It ain't going to kill you to drink tap water. But I don't drink tap water. I remember when I moved to Sudbury 25 years ago, I found out from the city how many chemicals they put in their water. Said, well, I want to filter that water. Okay, the least I can do. Okay, so that's an important subject. Water, vitamin W.

Okay, and I look at the list of vitamins. What are your favorite vitamins? Well, like vitamin W is one of them. You know me and my favorite. You want me to give you my list of favorite vitamins? Vitamin W, water. Okay, vitamin S, steak. It is so good for you. Vitamin S, steak, there's no food like it. You can put any food up against it and it won't even come close. It won't come close. An egg. Very good. You know how much I love eggs, but eggs, okay, eggs are good. They're near the top of the food chain, but it's not a steak and liver. You know my take on liver, I like it, but I don't like the taste of it. So I don't talk about liver. I talk about steak. But in steak I'm including hamburger. And you want that saturated fat. Do you know that they're actually looking in the US of A right now at saturated fat? Okay, I listened to an interview yesterday or the day before. They're changing the guidelines in the USA on food, like it's about time.

But I never thought in my lifetime that I would see a change. Ever since Ancel Keys, I call him a serial killer because he wanted people to eat cereal with a C and not eat bacon and eggs. He was the main culprit. Imagine one man. He was a serial killer. Not with a C only because he wanted you to eat cereal. That'll kill you, with an S. I don't think he did it on purpose. I don't think he wanted to hurt anyone. He actually believed that cholesterol was at the root of heart disease. He was convinced of it. And the only thing I didn't like about Ancel Keys, not only was he wrong and I called him out 50 years ago, not only was he wrong, he fudged numbers too. His hypothesis on cholesterol, he fudged the numbers and therefore what happened is you had a paradigm shift. People eating bacon, eggs in the morning for breakfast flipped to cereal and grains in the morning and it was an unmitigated disaster. A disaster. The morning meal changed. No more butter, margarine. Why? Cholesterol.

And here we are today in 2025 and it's still cholesterol, but I heard it yesterday. They're looking at the food guidelines in the USA and they're looking at it and I love it. They're looking at the real research behind saturated fat. Now guys, if you've been following me for any length of time, I'm big on saturated fat because I believe and I know that how good it is for you. Saturated fat. We talk about that all the time because fat don't make you fat and fat, good fat like saturated fat, the fat in meat, the fat in eggs, the fat in dairy is good for you. And you guys know this, I've been consistent about it. Saturated fat, like butter is good for you. You got all the fat soluble vitamins in there, you need them vitamin A, vitamin D, vitamin E even and vitamin K. Now I have another vitamin, vitamin E, I changed it. I changed the vitamin list.

But steak is vitamin S. And you could put saturated fat there too because it's so good for you, right? It's good for your heart, good for your brain. It's good for your skin. It's good for your bones because of the importance of vitamin D for your bones. You need saturated fat. We went fat free 50 years ago and was that smart? No, that was stupid. And we changed oils. I would tell people the world thinks they're smart. People think they're smarter than God. So what did we do? We changed the flour and all the nutrients out of flour, they're gone. And then they put a few back in, but they're all synthetic vitamins and that don't do you no good, your body can't even absorb. So man thinks they're smart. They changed the flour. They changed the sugar. They went from cane sugar to high fructose corn syrup and they changed the oil. The world got an oil change. It went from butter to canola. It went from butter to soy oil and grape seed oil and just, yeah, but it's polyunsaturated, Dr. Martin, I know, it does nothing for you. It's meant for your car. It's not meant for your body.

So man, thought they were smart. Let's change the oil. Let's change the sugar, let's change the flour. And we got sick as dogs. We didn't get healthier. We got sicker. Imagine that. Imagine all the progress that man has made in technology and you name it. And then we got stupid with food. And we have the twin towers of diabesity, diabetic and obesity. And we have all the chronic diseases worse than ever. Heart disease's worse than ever. Cancer is worse than ever. Oh, I saw a commercial yesterday. Let's give more money to cancer research. The problem is it doesn't get to research. And they do the same thing. They're looking for better drugs. Very few people want to talk about the connection between food and cancer. I'm not saying it's everything, but it's certainly something and it's very important.

And you know how we talk on this program about metabolic syndrome every day? Energy, how your body uses energy, food. We're eating the wrong thing. We got to get back to basics. Vitamin S, steak, vitamin W, water. It's a favorite vitamin. Vitamin D, do I got to keep talking about it? Important. Have you been reading our emails on B12 that your body don't work without B12? How do you get B12 in food? Steak. It's not found anywhere else. Somebody was trying to tell me the other day, it gave me a migraine. Well, red meat is acidic and red meat's no good for you. And red meat gives you colon cancer. Just read an article again yesterday on colorectal cancer, which is, I always throw around the word epidemic, but I got to tell you that colorectal cancer is like an epidemic today. I'll tell you why. And it's not red meat, it's sugar. Your bowel was never made for the amount of sugar. Your bowel was never made for that, neither was your stomach, neither was anything.

And they vilify still today, red meat. And there's people that avoid it like the plague. And they really don't know what they're talking about. You can't. Where are you going to get B12? Now you know me guys. I believe in supplementation because of the world in which we live. I believe in supplementation. I have tens of thousands of people on B12 over the years, tens of thousands. And there's reasons too that it's not just a lack of red meat, although that was a big factor, but a lot of times it's just the intrinsic factor and they're not breaking it down. We're doing a whole series of emails on B12 and why even blood tests. And I've been screaming about that for a long time that you just can't rely on blood tests for B12. But anyway, at the end of the day, people just don't eat enough red meat and they vilified it. And Ancel Keys, he started all that, red meat going to give you cholesterol and cholesterol's going to tell you. And yet you can't live without cholesterol.

I don't think there's a doctor anywhere because they have to take biology to get into medical school, human biology. So they already know every cell in your body's got cholesterol. You can't live without cholesterol. And yet they try and hammer it down with medication. And it's still the number one selling medication of all time, a statin drug. But that all go back to Ancel Keys. No butter, no eggs, or limit them. Eat margarine. Eat polyunsaturated fatty acids, all your hateful 8 oils that are found in the middle aisles of your grocery store. Eat cereal instead of bacon and eggs. Man, nutrition was turned upside down and have low fat everything. How did that work for people? We got fatter than ever. Imagine the basic principle of fat makes you fat. Well, that's not true.

And like I said, guys, I've been like John the Baptist for 50 years screaming in the wilderness. You got it wrong. You are not right. You're wrong. Plants are not better. The plant kingdom, fruits and vegetables, they're good, but they're not better than the animal kingdom. You can't live without the animal kingdom unless you supplement and we're bringing you out Information about B12. It's a water soluble vitamin. You can't overdose on B12. And unfortunately the blood test, I mean normal in B12 on the blood test, well, that'd be normal for a mouse, not for you. And B12 is essential. It's essential. I always laughed at this one. Now you guys would maybe remember this name, Dr. Bernstein. I don't know if his clinics are still around. Dr. Bernstein's weight loss clinics. Okay? Do you remember that? And his secret was to starve you to death, 600 calories. Okay? A day. That's starving to death.

And B12 shots and people are desperate to lose weight. And you see it today, they got all these GLP-1 meds. I always say Wegovy. I heard someone say Weegovy yesterday. I said, am I right? Are they right? She called it Weegovy. I call it Wegovy and Ozempic. That's what I call it or someone call it something else. Okay? You know what I mean? I mean the designer drugs that are selling like hotcakes. I wish I had a crystal ball a little bit. I mean, I'm talking about finances, okay? I used to say this on my radio show all the time if I had known about the little blue pill, okay? Because you got to remember in radio, the trends come to you first, okay? Because you hear about it and people ask about it all the time. And they were hearing about Cialis and Cialis and other meds, the little blue pill. Remember that? Why didn't I invest in that? Why didn't I invest in companies that made Wegovy or Ozempic, designer drugs. And they're the rage of losing weight now, right? Always trying to shortcut.

And I feel sorry for people that they're trying to lose weight and they want to take this medication, but the side effects are legion. Pancreatic cancer. Yeah, you lost weight, but your risk of pancreatic cancer is up three or four fold. Blindness, major digestive issues the rest of your life. Oh yeah, but at least I lost weight. You know what I mean guys? I call 'em designer drugs because it always starts in Hollywood. And give me a shortcut. I got to think of my career and I got to lose weight. And then it filters down to the rest of us and I scream against it. It's a short term fix with a long term disaster. And I've said that from the beginning. Major side effects of these designer medications. Again, I'm very sensitive to people. I understand it. I've been in this industry for a long time. I've been in the healthcare field for a long time. I understand people's frustrations.

But guys, I'm just going to tell you something. There ain't no shortcuts. There ain't no shortcuts. You can't out supplement, out medicate, you can't out exercise, you can't out whatever a bad diet. You just can't. And then we're getting bad information on the diet. Even today, we're still talking about fat. We're still talking about cholesterol. We changed the oil. In the world and are we going to undo it? I don't know. I want you guys undo it. My goal is to educate my audience. Get the other side from here. Did I give you the other side of it? Okay. And I thank you for putting up with my rants, but I appreciate it.

And you know what tomorrow is? It's Q and A. Always fun. Send your questions in to info@martinclinic.com, info@martinclinic.com. It will get to me. I will bring it up on the program. And we love answering your questions and no question's stupid. I don't ever say, oh, that's a stupid question. No, it's a good question. We like your questions. I'm used to it guys. I did an open line radio show for 20 years. I ain't scared of your questions. And we didn't even filter them out. They come on live. It was always an adventure. Okay? Anyway, guys, we love you dearly and we'll talk to you soon.
