Every passage below is Dr. Martin, verbatim, from The Doctor Is In. Episode numbers are given with each one.

Why are people so low in B12?

Dr. Martin on why people are low in B12:

Why are people so low in B12? One, they don't eat red meat. And two, they don't have the acidity in their stomach, and you ain't bringing B12 into your body without a good stomach acidity.

Dr. Martin, The Doctor Is In, Episode 1500

You got brain fog, you're low in B12

Dr. Martin on brain fog:

You got brain fog, you're low in B12, almost invariably, almost no exceptions to it. Over all the years, people would come in, we test their B12 and they were low in B12. And the vast majority of the population is. Why today are we so low in B12? Extremely low levels of B12. "Oh, doc, my doctor said, I got normal B12." Yeah, well, normal is for a mouse, not for you. Your body, especially headquarters, your brain needs B12 to be optimized.

I want at least 800 in the B12 test

Dr. Martin on the number he wants on the test:

But when I look at it, I want at least 800 in the B12 test. 800 is the standard. That's low like that. Anything lower than 800 on a B12 blood test, in my opinion, is low B12. Well, 95% of the population has low B12. They don't have optimized B12. Their brain will not operate properly without B12.

You can't get B12 if you're not eating red meat

Dr. Martin on red meat:

B12, because you can't get B12 if you're not eating red meat. You need red meat, okay? For B12. B12 is really only found in the animal kingdom and very specifically in red meat, okay? So when you have liver, you get B12. When you have steak, you get B12. It's in pork a little bit less, but you better be eating meat. That's why I always tell my vegetarian friends and vegan friends, I'm sorry, but you're wrong, okay? I'm sorry, but you're wrong. And if you insist on being a vegetarian or a vegan, okay, but you understand you need to supplement the rest of your life with B12, your brain ain't going to function properly without B12.

Dr. Martin, The Doctor Is In, Episode 1578

Methyl is the one that your body absorbs

Dr. Martin on methyl and cyano:

Well methyl, and always look for that on a B12, methyl is the one that your body absorbs. Okay? Cyano is one that your body has a very hard time absorbing. It's usually found in the cheaper B12s, is the cyanocobalamin. Okay? And it's a molecule that's different. B12 is a very finicky vitamin to start off with. It is a large structure vitamin. Okay? Biochemistry wise. Hard to absorb, B12. And that's why so many people are deficient in it.

When you are taking a sublingual

Dr. Martin on sublingual B12:

When you are taking a sublingual, melt in your mouth, under your tongue B12. And if it's a methylcobalamin, they're showing that the supplement, if it's the right one, if it's sublingual, meaning it melts in your mouth, doesn't have to go through your digestive tract. It goes immediately into your bloodstream. What happens? That is better than the B12 shot. It's better than the B12 shot. That's research.

Dr. Martin, The Doctor Is In, Episode 779

If anyone has had bariatric surgery

Dr. Martin on bariatric surgery:

Listen to me, Linda, if anyone has had bariatric surgery, they need to be on B12 the rest of their life. And I'm just going to tell you, it's better that you take B12 every day than getting a B12 shot. I'm not against B12 shots, okay? I'm not against them all. I'm telling you what's better, sublingual, okay?
